This year we have had a lot going on. With a new business that brought us out on the road and our great little home business with The Battleground food truck.
This year we have decided to sell our original food truck to make room for the new stuff. Unfortunately it has sat for 2 years and is a bit dusty, which drives the point that we want someone to keep using it. She is a 1979 GMC Step van P3500.
Like all things, there are a few catches. It is a 3 speed manual with a granny gear and tops out at 45 mph even on the highway. The gas gauge has been broken long before we bought the truck and the emergency flashers need to be replaced something we have been working on. It is only 6 feet, top to bottom inside and a 2 person maybe 3 person at max kitchen. The deep fryer will be removed as it no longer fits into fire code. The flooring will need to be replaced, preferably with a vinyl laminate as requested by the health department.
With that being said. The entire front end, back end, drivetrain, engine and transmission have all been rebuilt in 2021 ($45,000 value) and have been maintained twice a year. The hood fan is brand new as of 2023, with a 2000 sqf air movement. The serving window is custom made as well as a stainless steel frame and serving shelf. The hood is a custom hood system unique to this food truck and has a complete Ansul fire Suppression system, at a combined value of $16000. The Sandwich station holds 2.5 hotel pans or 10 1/3 pans on top and has 20 sqf of refrigeration space underneath. There is a 7.5 sqf standing Avantco Fridge that we use as a reach in for sauces and drinks. We installed a 4 burner charbroiler and a 4 Burner Spider Top as an update to the previous flat top(combined value of $4500). There is a 35 gallon grey tank on the bottom and a 25 gallon potable water tank attached to a water pump that supplies water to the hand washing sink and the three compartment sink, as well as the propane water heater. We made a custom generator stand for a 9500 Predator Inverter on the front. The logos are vinyl and can be easily removed with a heat gun.
