2001 Dodge Ram 1500 V8 5.9 with a factory off road package and 6.5’ bed. 156k miles. It’s a good pickup except that it has a bad cylinder. Cylinder 5 is not holding compression and it needs a new motor. There is a new set of ignition wires and a few other new parts I got before the compression test.
It has new brakes all around (less than 500 miles ago) and a set of 285/70/17 Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx tires with about 5000 miles on them (10-ply tires on a half ton, not much wear). The tires are sweet - quiet on the highway, tons of traction, some sort of Kevlar layer, etc. Also has a rear custom bumper, a hitch, a bed extender, bed liner, towing mirrors and a canopy. Paint under my spray paint was in good shape when I painted over it (no peeling), but I removed all the stickers and badges. Black areas are truck bed liner over a rhino coat that the previous owner did.
The interior is in great shape. Rear seat was in storage the whole time I had the pickup and the front bench seat is nice. Bumper is cracked but it has a carpet dash cover. Power locks and windows, cruise, CD player (stock).
I had no issues with the pickup before this other than an incident that resulted in a dent over the driver side door. It doesn’t leak water but it does make noise on the highway. I also replaced the door.
This has been a great truck and was super reliable until now. The transmission is great, and I replaced the radiator right when I bought it. New fluids, air filter, oil, etc. I’ve been thinking about switching to something with better mileage anyway, so I wasn’t up for swapping out engines. Hopefully someone can make use of it. Would be a great parts truck or project.
