Colfax Site Supervisor, Full-Time 12 months
Reports To
Executive Director of Community Child Care Center
Supervises
The Colfax site team, consisting of classroom teachers, custodial staff, and implementation of Licensing/ECEAP Performance Standards.
Purpose
To serve as the site supervisor for the Colfax center. Work collaboratively as a team member of management to provide direction to the CCCC organization and achieve program goals. Provide leadership in overall management, including hiring, staffing, evaluation, budgeting, purchasing, meal procurement, marketing and public relations, decision-making, billing to parents, and billing to DSHS. Serve as the main contact person between Colfax School District personnel and CCCC.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, family-related / centered degrees, social work, business or public administration degrees.
Experience
1. Must 3 years of experience in a preschool program.
2. Must have a minimum of one-year experience in a supervisory role.
Other Requirements
1. Provide a current TB record
2. Submit to finger printing and a criminal history background check.
3. Pass a pre-employment health screening indicating freedom from communicable diseases.
4. Provide or receive a current first aid / CPR card
5. Valid driver's license, and proof of automobile insurance as mandated by Washington State law
6. Physical constraints required include the ability to hear a conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, the ability to see and read newsprint with or without corrective lenses, to speak and be understood under normal circumstances, to lift and carry children and other items up to fifty pounds and the use of arms, legs and feet without corrective devices to accomplish the job, including evacuation of the building during emergencies
7. Be able to follow and carry out duties and responsibilities as described in the CCCC Policies and Procedures Manual, staff handbook, licensing requirements, performance standards, and other written guides and materials.
8. Be able to keep accurate records, documentation, and organize work effectively.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Management Systems / Leadership / Supervision
1. Oversee the day-to-day center operations and supervision of all Colfax staff.
a. Directly evaluate Colfax lead teachers and other support staff, ensure appropriate evaluations for teaching assistants are completed annually
2. Oversee, plan, and implement classroom curriculum and schedules with Colfax staff, parents and volunteers.
3. Oversee environments, and ensure both general housekeeping duties and on-going maintenance are completed.
a. Ensure classroom environments are developmentally appropriate and all areas are clean and safe.
b. Responsible for the monitoring of supplies for the child care and storage.
Fiscal
1. Responsible for tuition billing / collection and DSHS billing for all CCCC child care enrolled children.
2. Oversight and approval of classroom and center supply purchases
Compliance
1. Monitoring and evaluation, self-assessment
2. Reporting – PIR, Annual Report, Compliance Reports
3. ECEAP/NAC policy and procedures (knowledge)
4. Licensing, Regulations, Laws (knowledge)
Program Operations / Organizational Structure / Policies
1. Assist in Policies and Procedures (write, revise, develop, research).
2. Act as a mentor, liaison, and oversee placement of staff, volunteers, parents and community partnerships.
3. Ensure records of children, families, and staff are accurately and confidentially kept, as well as Colfax center business documents and records.
4. Responsible for staffing of all child care employees; including approval of leave requests and emergency sick leave TCP approval of lead teachers.
5. Ensure that the work schedule of Colfax staff is carried out, including scheduled weekly team meetings, on-going professional development activities, and all major work tasks are accomplished (i.e. parent teacher conferences, 45 and 90 day developmental and health screenings, curriculum benchmarks).
6. Plan, implement, and support staff and family events, parent activities and all staff and parent program involvement events.
7. Interview prospective teachers and substitutes.
8. Oversee the coordination and appropriate plans with consultants, as needed.
9. Fully participate as a member of the leadership team by coordinating and leading monthly Colfax staff meetings, attend weekly classroom team and management team meetings, and meet with the Executive Director and other management team on an as needed basis.
10. Advocate for CCCC. Maintain a professional and confidentiality organizational climate for all children, families and staff.
11. Lead TLC monthly teacher meeting when necessary.
12. Responsible for ensuring a smooth transition of all kindergarten bound children leaving program.
13. Collaborate with Colfax Library to provide scheduled visits.
14. Conduct monthly fire drills and disaster preparedness drills.
