St James Site Supervisor, Full-Time 12 months
Reports To
Executive Director of Community Child Care Center
Supervises
St James: (4) Lead Teachers, (1) Administrative Assistant, (1) custodian, (1) maintenance and (1) cook.
Purpose
To serve as the Site Supervisor for the St James center, for our center-based systems such as DCYF Licensing, Early Achievers, ECEAP Standards and NAC accreditation. Work collaboratively as a team member of management to provide direction to the CCCC organization and achieve program goals. Provide leadership in overall management including hiring, staffing, evaluation, budgeting, purchasing, meal procurement, marketing and public relations, decision-making, billing to parents, and billing to DSHS. Serve as the main contact person between St James Episcopal church personnel and CCCC.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, family related / centered degrees, social work, business or public administration degrees with the equivalent of 30 college quarter credits in ECE. The credits may be included in the degree or in addition to the degree.
Experience
1. Must 3 years of experience in a preschool program
2. Must have a minimum of one-year experience in a supervisory role working with adults
Other Requirements
1. Provide a current TB record
2. Submit to finger printing and criminal history background check.
3. Pass a pre-employment health screening indicating freedom from communicable diseases.
4. Provide or receive a current first aid / CPR card
5. Valid driver's license, and proof of automobile insurance as mandated by Washington State law
6. Physical constraints required include the ability to hear a conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, the ability to see and read newsprint with or without corrective lenses, to speak and be understood under normal circumstances, to lift and carry children and other items up to fifty pounds and the use of arms, legs and feet without corrective devices to accomplish the job, including evacuation of the building during emergencies
7. Be able to follow and carry out duties and responsibilities as described in the CCCC Policies and Procedures Manual, staff handbook, licensing requirements, performance standards, and other written guides and materials.
8. Be able to keep accurate records, documentation, and organize work effectively.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Management Systems / Leadership / Supervision
1. Oversee the day-to-day center operations and supervision of all St James staff.
a. Directly evaluate St James Lead teachers, admin staff and volunteers. Ensure appropriate evaluations for teaching assistants are completed annually.
2. Oversee the planning of high-quality individualized curriculum and implementation in the classroom and schedules for the St James staff.
3. Oversee environments and ensure both general housekeeping duties and on-going maintenance are completed.
a. Ensure classroom environments are developmentally appropriate, well organized, clean and safe.
b. Responsible for the monitoring of supplies for the childcare and storage room.
Fiscal
1. Responsible for tuition billing / collection and DSHS billing for all CCCC child care enrolled children.
2. Oversight and approval of classroom and center supply purchases.
Compliance
1. Monitoring and self-assessment
2. Reporting – PIR, Annual Report, Compliance Safety Annual Reports
3. ECEAP/NAC policy and procedures (knowledge)
4. Licensing, USDA Regulations, WA Laws and Early Achievers (knowledge)
Program Operations / Organizational Structure / Policies
1. Assist in Policies and Procedures (write, revise, develop, research).
2. Act as a mentor, liaison, and oversee placement of staff, volunteers, parents and community partnerships.
3. Facilitate any staff, staff and parents’ disputes or disagreements as needed.
4. Ensure records of children, families, and staff are accurately and confidentially kept, as well as other St James center documents and records.
5. Responsible for staffing of all childcare employees; including approval of leave requests and emergency sick leave, TCP approval for all center staff.
6. Ensure that the work schedule of James staff is carried out, including scheduled weekly team meetings, on-going professional development training, and all major work tasks are accomplished (i.e. parent teacher conferences, 45 and 90 day developmental and health screenings, curriculum benchmarks).
7. Interview prospective teachers and substitutes
8. Support staff plan and implement family events, parent activities and other parent program involvement events.
9. Lead TLC monthly teacher meeting, when necessary
10. Fully participate as a member of the leadership team by coordinating and leading bi-weekly St James Lead staff meetings, attend monthly classroom team meetings, weekly management team meetings, and meet with the Executive Director and other management team on an as needed basis
11. Advocate for CCCC. Maintain a professional and confidential organizational climate for all children, families and staff
12. Conduct monthly fire drills and quarterly disaster drills.
