Triple C Ranch is a multi-generational family owned and run farm in Palouse, WA 99161. We chose Scottish Highlands for several reasons. They are very friendly and docile, to the point we can brush and pet most of them. We lovingly raise our own beef and occasionally will have the availability to sell, with the intention of being able to add in more to our fold in our future.
We have them on grass and supplement with high quality local grass hay, Alfalfa, Timothy and Texas Ridge’s livestock blend (100% non-GMO grain mix is a custom blend of locally-grown barley, peas and sometimes lentils). No growth hormones.
Pure Highland Beef is slow to mature, 24-28 months compared to the typical 18 months for other beef breeds. Due to the insulating hair on their hide, the meat is lean and very low in fat, but also rich in protein and iron. It is unsurpassed for flavor, tenderness and juiciness. This comes from having just the right amount of marbling through the meat to give that succulent flavor so typical of old-fashioned traditional beef. Studies show that Highland Beef is better for us than beef from other breeds.
