The absolute number one thing you must be is RELIABLE. If you're not, or call in sick every other week, or can't get out of bed on time, I wish you well, but you can't do this job.
I'm looking for both:
1. experienced snow plow or equipment drivers,
and
2. trainable people with farm, ranch, construction, or municipal service backgrounds to help us plow snow in Moscow, ID and Pullman, WA.
Snow plow drivers are often laid off or have reduced winter hrs from a year round FT job. I sort them into:
A drivers: Can plow anytime. Normal start time is 3am, usually 8-9 hrs.
B drivers: have a job to leave for in the morning, can work 3am till 730am, sometimes can go past 730am.
C drivers: have some weekdays available 3am to 12pm
D drivers: Can work anytime any Sat or Sun
E drivers: can work 3-4pm till midnight. (usually this is de-ice spraying)
I need guys with experience in jobs that aren't just punching a clock, but that know how to work until the job is over. People that can handle the snow when it keeps coming down throughout the day. I know there are a bunch of people in Pullman with their own trucks that are used to the tough work, I want to get in touch with some of you.
We'll plow when the snow is there, if you're the kind of guy I'm looking for, you know what this job will be like:
Plow anytime from 2am until 7pm, 6 hrs on a light day, 15 on a heavy day.
Some days need to plow while lots are full of cars
Keep track of time and lots done, keep in touch with me
Work with others, keep your head when the snow is really coming down
Bonus if you have some background mechanical/auto repair experience.
If you know someone that would be interested, please give them my number.
Call me (Ken) at 208 882 7230. You can text me your name, number, what sort of time you're available, but I do want to hear what you have to say. I'll get back to you as soon as I can, and if you don't hear, call again in a few days. I lose track of calls and texts occasionally.
This is also posted on Indeed. I am as not interested in resumes for this position as much as good references from someone in a field that would bear on this sort of work. Most of my best drivers have some as personally referred from someone I know.
Thanks,
